Ex-Beauty and the Geek star wants charges for falsifying medical certificates to be dropped on mental health grounds
Former reality star Jordan Finlayson appeared in court in Sydney on Friday for sentencing after pleading guilty to four charges of forging medical certificates while on bail.
But her legal representative at Downing Street Center Local Court argued for the charges against the 32-year-old to be dismissed on mental health grounds.
Finlayson, known for her appearance on the 2011 season of Beauty and the Geek before her fall from grace on meth, was convicted of driving under the influence of drugs late last year.
Magistrate Brett Shields adjourned the former professional dancer’s case until the end of May and continued her bail.
It comes after Finlayson was ordered to report to police three times a week as a condition of her bail.

Yet the former NRL cheerleader produced fake medical certificates from multiple doctors to avoid going to the police station.
On Friday, she wore a silky black blouse and trousers with sky-high beige heels as she appeared in court to be sentenced for falsifying the documents.
However, her lawyer Ben Wilcox told the court he would apply for the charges to be dropped on mental health grounds.

He requested an extension so that he could obtain the supporting documentation that would allow the application to proceed.
Wilcox said Finlayson was “quite overwhelmed by the expense” of seeing a psychologist to obtain a mental health report needed to drop the charges.
She would go to her usual doctor within weeks to obtain a medical report, he told the court.

The agreed facts show that she provided the police with certificates at least four times stating that she was unable to visit the station on the days she had to report to the police.
The documents were accepted as legitimate until police raided Finlayson’s hotel room months later and found several certificates on phones.
Police then gained digital access to her phone to determine the authenticity of the certificates.

However, the former Penthouse model gave incorrect passcodes after claiming she could no longer remember the PIN.
After Finlayson finally provided the correct code, detectives found multiple certificates on the phone in different fonts.
Doctors and staff named in the documents confirmed they had only provided certificates for some of Finlayson’s absences.
