Celebrity beauty expert reveals how you can slim down and sculpt your entire face using only a SPOON
A renowned facial sculpting expert has revealed how you can instantly slim down and sculpt your face using a simple household item – a spoon.
The secret technique was revealed in a Instagram Reel last month by Joseph Carrillowho has worked his magic on the faces of A-list stars like Mariska Hartigay and Camille Kostek.
Carrillo, who lives in New York City, specializes in his own “noninvasive, nontoxic facelift” called the Sculptural energetic lifting facial treatment.
The method is not only intended to lift and sculpt the face, but also to ‘penetrate deeply into the underlying facial muscles that support the posture of our face.’
But now everyone can try out his techniques thanks to the extensive tutorial he posted. All you need is a spoon.
Professional facial sculptor Joseph Carrillo, who has worked his magic on the faces of A-list stars like Mariska Hartigay and Camille Kostek, revealed the spoon trick in a video posted to Instagram
He’s used a spoon on his superstar clients like Camille Kostek (above), Brooks Nader, Huma Abedin, Marishka Hargitay, Alex Cooper and Bethenny Frankel
It’s a trick he’s even used on his biggest clients, like Kostek, Brooks Nader, Huma Abedin, Marishka Hargitay, Alex Cooper and Bethenny Frankel.
“Start by wiping the fluid away from your nasolabial fold, upward and outward,” Carrillo began in the clip, moving the spoon in an upward motion on the side of his nose where it meets his cheek.
“Then I take the belly of the spoon and start moving it down the side of my face, paying attention to the bottom, the bottom of the spoon sliding across the top of my cheekbones, my entire cheekbone and all the way out towards my temple,” he continued.
He showed viewers exactly what to do as he gently ran the spoon along the sides of his cheekbones and under his eyes.
Carrillo, who also works as a makeup artist, then got to work sculpting his cheeks.
He took the spoon and moved it from his cheek all the way up to his eyes.
He then grabbed the object at the brow bone to lift that part of the face.
“So I go from the sides of my eyebrows all the way to my temple and then up to the top of my eyebrows,” he explained.

“The belly of the spoon is perfect to help with firming and de-puffing,” Carrillo told DailyMail.com, adding that he used the technique on Bethenny Frankel (above)
Carrillo explained that facial sculpting has many benefits, including improving circulation
“And then from under the brow muscle, up and out toward the temple,” Carrillo continued.
The sculpting expert explained that it is important to press the spoon into the skin as you do this, but that you have to be careful not to hurt yourself.
Typically, facial sculpting is performed with an instrument called a gua sha – a curved massage instrument that originates from an ancient Chinese healing art, per Healthline.
Gua sha is meant to stimulate circulation and reduce swelling by scraping the skin, but Carillo found that a spoon works just as well.
The facial sculpting expert told DailyMail.com that spoons have a great ergonomic shape, similar to that of a traditional gua sha tool.
Not only does the shape allow for “effective pressure and movement along the contours of the face,” he said, but the smooth surface also allows it to move easily over the skin and prevent irritation.
“Spoons are common household items, making this technique more accessible to people who don’t have a traditional gua sha instrument,” he told DailyMail.com.
“The belly of the spoon is perfect for firming the skin and reducing swelling,” Carrillo added.
‘Unlike regular gua sha, which is flat. The spoon really hugs the contours.’
But whether you use a gua sha instrument, a spoon, or even your hands, facial sculpting can provide many benefits.
Carillo told DailyMail.com that facial sculpting can improve circulation, reduce puffiness, drain lymphatic fluid, improve facial contours, relieve tension and stimulate collagen production.

“Facial sculpting improves blood flow to the skin, which enhances its natural glow and makes the skin healthier,” he said.
It is wise to do this regularly.
“Regular sculpting can help define and lift facial contours and plump up muscles, giving a more youthful appearance,” Carrillo says.
‘Facial sculpting can relieve muscle tension, reduce stress and prevent wrinkles caused by tension.’
So the next time you’re feeling a little bloated after a few glasses of wine, grab a spoon from your china drawer. You’ll be looking youthful again in no time!
