‘I’ve been there three times, always in September. Sunset lasts for several hours, so you have a long “golden hour” of light.’
Although the weather on Skye isn’t always sunny, one user said the island’s misty days add a “magical, mystical quality to the landscape.”
Miyajima Island, Japan

Japan’s Miyajima Island, an hour outside of Hiroshima, is a popular choice for travelers. Miyajima means “shrine island” and is home to wild deer.
According to Reddit user ‘Donotdisturb95,’ the resort has “absolutely serene nature with some of the best ryokans in the country.”
One tourist describes the Japanese island as “one of the most magical places I’ve ever been,” while another traveler says it’s “absolutely beautiful” and “easy to get to by ferry.” But beware of overly friendly locals – one tourist notes that “a deer ate my map.”

One commentator describes Bora Bora in French Polynesia as “spectacular,” while another says it “feels like you’re in a dream.”
Another traveler added: ‘It was at the top of my bucket list to go there. I was prepared for disappointment and for all the aerial photos to be photoshopped. I expected it to be a slightly prettier Caribbean island. I was completely wrong. It is even more unbelievably beautiful than any of the photos.’

Another user added: ‘The old town was absolutely enchanting and my Airbnb was 50 euros a night. Korcula was one of those “I can’t believe this is actually my life” places – simply unforgettable.’
Madeira, Portugal

Madeira, an island off the coast of Portugal, is, according to one reader, “a level above everything else,” while another says it is “absolutely stunning.”
