Beau Ryan reveals the worst thing he ate during his time in the I’m A Celebrity jungle
Beau Ryan has spoken candidly about the horrific moments he experienced in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! when he appeared on the show last year.
The ex-NRL star, 37, appeared on Nova’s Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie, where he revealed the most disgusting thing he ate during one of the eating challenges.
When radio host Michael “Wippa” Wipfli asked the sports star what was the “worst thing” he had to “go down the esophagus,” Beau immediately replied, “The eyeball.”
He added that drinking animal urine and “the different kinds of p**s” he had to drink on the show wasn’t as gross as chewing an eyeball.
They are too big to actually swallow. You have to bite into it,’ he said. “I think I had it in my mouth for about five minutes.”

Beau continued, noting that it wasn’t the taste that put him off, but rather the “texture” that felt like “warm pus.”
“I was sick for about a day and a half,” he explained.
During the 2022 season challenge of I’m a Celebrity, Aussie football legends Beau, Nathan Buckley and Derek Kickett swallowed their pride as they competed in what has been cited as the show’s most disgusting eating challenge to date.

The grueling ‘La Cocharacha Cantina’ task saw the retired NRL and AFL stars hide in a bull’s penis, a cow’s eye and cow urine to win food for their camp.
During the fan-favorite challenge, Derek was unimpressed when he was forced to eat a bull’s penis on a bed of nattō beans, while Nathan followed by consuming a bull’s penis filled with chili.
The trio then had to swallow fresh shots of cow urine with drunken worms, which Beau had to swallow despite finding it difficult to smell.

Last year, in what was the eighth season of I’m a Celebrity, Beau walked into the jungle on the 14th day – costing him $200,000.
His reasoning was sparked by a late night discussion with his campmates, when he admitted that he missed his family and had to leave.
“As you know I’ve had a hard time these past few days, and today I was a little broken. It’s been really hard for me,” he said on the show.
The trio then had to swallow fresh shots of cow urine with drunken worms, which Beau had to swallow despite finding it difficult to smell.
“The reason I did this show is to test myself, and I did. I have shown Australia the good, the bad and the ugly of me.
“I’ve had moments where I’m sorry, other times I’m not, and I’m proud of everything that happened.”
“I remember growing up with a man two houses away from me – the father was always away for work. I don’t want to be that father,” he continued.
“My children need their father. My wife needs a man, and I need to find myself again.
“I came here to prove myself. I can’t get anything else out of this show. My journey here is over and I love you.’
He then uttered the famous words: “I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here.”
