Beau Ryan revealed the “good and bad times” of his 11-year marriage to wife Kara on Sunday as he opened up about the history of their relationship.
The Gladiators presenter, 38, who tied the knot with Kara, 36, in 2012, said being the mother of his two children – Remi, 10, and Jesse, six – “balances out” his “needy and emotional” side.
After having two children and ‘moving more than ten times’, the former NRL star said he and Kara have ‘grown together’, reported The Sydney Morning Herald.
“Kara knows me better than anyone and we have shared good times and bad,” he told the publication.
‘I’m a needy person and quite emotional. My wife is very balanced, just like my mother. She takes life in stride. I can’t imagine my life without her.’

But despite how strong their relationship now seems, the Footy Show star said they had a very rocky start.
The pair met ‘properly’ when Beau was 19, but after three years of dating they split when Kara decided to move abroad for a while.
Beau went on to say they ‘reconnected’ when he was 23, but Kara ‘made me work hard for her love’ and the rugby player struggled to ‘convince her’.

He revealed that he tried to pop the question to her three times in 2011, with the first two proposals failing as Kara kept messing up his plans.
First, she refused to ride in a horse-drawn carriage in Central Park because she thought it was “cheesy and cringe.”
Then the mother-of-two was no longer able to get into the rowboat Beau had rented as a backup, and was eventually forced to propose at dinner.

‘Third time lucky, I booked a restaurant and asked her there. “It was the most nervous I’ve ever been in my life,” he said.
