Beau Ryan announces big change for The Amazing Race Australia: ‘It’s back!’

Beau Ryan has revealed that a celebrity edition of The Amazing Race Australia is on the way.

The beloved NRL star turned TV presenter made the announcement via Instagram on Sunday alongside a slew of photos.

Beau’s post was soon flooded with celebrities doing everything they could to get involved.

“I think I would be a perfect candidate @therealbeauryan,” Roxy Jacenko wrote.

“I mean, look, I’m free,” added Carla From Bankstown, before Channel 10 entertainment reporter Angela Bishop added, “This is BIG.”

The announcement comes after Beau suffered a major accident during the show’s final season.

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph last August, Beau revealed that he had arrived in Belize to start shooting and found that the suitcase containing his clothes could not be found.

He then thought quickly and decided to just improvise with the scant clothing available on set.

“I borrowed a producer’s shoes, a hat from the EP, anything I could find. I put together outfits with whatever I could find to make it work,” he explained.

This culminated in him filming in Central America with “just a towel and bathers.”

“We were in the islands, so someone just suggested we do it in swimmers — so we did,” he said.
