BBC’s The One Show plunged into chaos as Stacey Dooley is rushed off set during live chat
BBC’s The One Show was thrown into chaos when Stacey Dooley walked off set during Thursday’s live show.
The 37-year-old documentary filmmaker had to rush away from the interview to head to her West End performance 40 minutes later in A Ghost Story (2:22).
The Strictly Come Dancing star spoke to presenters Roman Kemp and Alex Jones about her new role on the show as Jenny.
But during her conversation, Roman had to intervene as he was told she had to leave the interview to travel to the theater by motorcycle in such a short time.
Under pressure, Roman said, “We actually can’t hold you for long. In fact, I’m now told that you will be on stage in about forty minutes and that you have a motorcycle.’

The documentary maker, 37, had to rush from the interview to get to her West End appearance in 2:22 A Ghost Story, 40 minutes later.
“How showbiz Roman!” Stacey laughed.
Roman joked, “Well, actually we should put this to you [brings out motorbike helmet]’
Stacey added: ‘It was so lovely meeting you, thank you so much. Right! See you soon, gang,’ before rushing off the set.
“Break a leg!” joked Alex Jones.
Stacey is the latest famous face to join the West End production of Danny Robins’ hit play. On June 2 she made her debut at the Gielgud Theater.
The TV star plays Jenny, a new mother who is convinced that someone is haunting her house at the same time every night.
Stacey is joined in the production by former Inbetweeners star James Buckley, who plays Ben.
In the story, Ben is the partner of Jenny’s friend Lauren, whom she has invited to dinner.

Stacey has made her West End debut as Jenny in the award-winning play 2:22 Ghost Story
She convinces them to stay until 2:22 in the morning to decipher whether there is a ghost.
While Ben believes this could be possible, her own partner Sam does not believe in anything supernatural.
Lauren provides the comic relief in the piece, playing Donna Air, a 90s TV presenter, looking cheerful as her character holds two glasses of wine.
This role was previously played by Sophia Bush and Ruby Rose, among others.
The show has a history of casting famous faces in the four roles, with Girls Aloud singer Cheryl, Smile hitmaker Lily Allen and former Love Island presenter Laura Whitmore all previously taking on the role of Jenny.
Stacey said excitedly, “Happy to be involved in the next adaptation of 2:22! Invented! I fell for the piece when I went to see it in 2022.
‘All 4 characters feel so familiar, which means the subtle ‘ghost story’ just works so brilliantly. I can’t wait to bring Jenny back to life! Let’s go!’
