BBC reveals pundit’s lineup for Qatar World Cup with Didier Drogba and Rio Ferdinand as the big names… game
The BBC has confirmed the presenter and expert line-up for the Qatar World Cup with Rio Ferdinand, Alan Shearer and Didier Drogba as their biggest names.
33 matches from the tournament, which kicks off on 20 November, will be broadcast live on the BBC channels and online streaming platforms while covering ITV.
But the Corporation could face a backlash after bringing Ashley Williams to their squad, despite the former Wales captain being charged by the FA for allegedly assaulting a coach during an Under 12s match in Manchester .
Williams’ son played in the match and witnesses said the former Everton and Swansea centre-back took the field to confront an opposition coach who intervened after his son was involved in an exchange with an opponent.
The FA accused Williams of inappropriate conduct and violent, threatening behaviour, but a spokesperson for the ex-footballer claimed he acted in self-defense and would dispute the charges.
