Ed says of his new role: 'The first series of The Traitors was my absolute obsession, and I can't wait to dive deep into series 2 and dissect all the twists and turns it has to offer. It goes without saying that I am 100% loyal.'

Louise Kattenhorn, Commissioning Executive of BBC Sounds says: 'The Traitors is a show that EVERYONE will be talking about and this visualized podcast will be like joining the ultimate group chat, with cast members and celebrity guest fans enjoying all the drama and gameplay along with super fan Ed Gamble.

“Plus, we have footage of the moment exiled and murdered players discovered who the traitors among them were – I can't wait!”

Suzy Grant, executive producer at Listen, said: 'Like The Traitors, we've kept our own secret and are thrilled to be creating the official visualized podcast.

'At Listen we're taking companion podcasts to the next level in this hugely ambitious new show that will demonstrate the real power of podcasting.

'The special full version will go live on BBC Sounds before being broadcast on BBC Two and available to stream on iPlayer. There's nothing like it and we can't wait to start recording, cloaks optional.”

The episodes will air on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer, and an extended version with additional guests, further theories and essential analysis will be available on BBC Sounds.

The Traitors returns for a third season.

22 strangers play the ultimate game of detection, backstabbing and trust, in the hope of winning up to £120,000.

The majority of the participants are 'Faithfuls' and must figure out who among them are 'Traitors' – who have the ability to 'kill' a fellow participant every night.

The group has daily 'bans' in which they must vote to kick out someone they believe is a traitor, while working together on challenges to raise money for the prize fund.

The BBC series proved to be a huge success when it launched last year and fans went wild last week when a teaser trailer was released for series two.

Show bosses are confident the next installment will be another success this year and have already opened casting applications for season three.

Kalpna Patel-Knight, head of entertainment at the BBC, said: 'The massive unscripted hit The Traitors is returning for a third series.

'Expect more psychological gameplay, exciting challenges and of course Claudia at the helm.

“It's sure to be an exciting ride for avid fans and newcomers to the series alike. The BBC will always remain loyal to The Traitors.
