But now DJ Ace has announced that he is quitting his R&B Saturday show and will do a final broadcast on January 20th.
The music lover, real name Ashley Asomani, is also a DJ outside the studio and has toured the world with the likes of Snoop Dog, 50 Cent and Lil' Kim.
He said in a statement: “After twenty years, several stints during the day and more than 10,000 hours on air, I have decided it is time to move on.
“I have enjoyed my time at 1Xtra and have so many proud moments to think back on.”

He is replaced by DJ Chuckie who said: 'This is a very surreal and sensational moment for me. I am very grateful to be part of the 1Xtra team and I look forward to creating high-quality musical moments together with the listeners.”
Radio1 Xtra said: 'DJ Ace has decided to leave the station after 21 years. Ace has been an integral part of the station over the years, hosting some of its most iconic moments.
'Thanks for everything Ace, Ace's last R&B show is on Saturday January 20th'.
It comes after Clara Amfo quit her own presenting job at sister station BBC Radio 1.
The 39-year-old DJ, who competed on Strictly Come Dancing with Aljaz Skorjanec in 2020, issued a statement on Tuesday and shared a post of her in the recording studio on Instagram.
She wrote: 'It is with immense gratitude and reflection that I have made the choice to part ways with Future Sounds on @bbcradio1.
'I'm saving the long paragraphs (because you know I love them!) for my last show, but for now I'll say that I'm so proud of the work I've been able to do on every type show over the years since the 8th floor, up and down Britain and random pop star houses!

Clara, who was expected to earn around £150,000 a year, was inundated with responses from her fans and famous friends.
