A BBC presenter was caught scrolling on her phone for an entire minute during a live broadcast.

Annita McVeigh, 46, was left red-faced when she realised the news had gone completely silent during her lunch break as she was scrolling through her phone during a technical glitch.

Annita was unaware of the awkward silence, but she looked at her iPhone and spoke to her production team.

The blunder lasted more than a minute before the presenter realised she was already live on TV.

Then she emerged as a true professional newsreader, keeping things in order as the day’s biggest stories played out.
