BBC Masterchef viewers shocked as contestant who made ‘disaster’ dessert with VINEGAR is put through while eliminated Rana was ‘robbed’

BBC Masterchef viewers were shocked when contestant Jerome reached the quarter-finals of the competition despite a disastrous dessert.

Hoping to secure a place in the next stage of the competition, 33-year-old Jerome served judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace a risky pudding.

To the viewer’s shock, Jerome’s sweet offering was covered with malt vinegar, while the cake was topped with pickled cherries.

His bold decision did not yield the results he had hoped, and the jury was disgusted with the justice.

But despite the mistake, Jerome managed to reach the next round of the competition.

This decision sparked outrage online as viewers believed his fellow competitor, Rana, had been ‘robbed’ of her place in the quarter-finals.

On X, formerly known as Twitter, a user wrote: “Rana has been robbed.”

“So you cook a dish that everyone says doesn’t work, and then you put vinegar in your dessert and you go through with it anyway? Shocking decision to let Jerome through.”

‘My other half just shouted FO to #MasterChef – yes Jerome, we are all shocked. Rana has been robbed.”

“We had a salt AND a vinegar disaster.”

‘Is Jerome a worthy quarter-finalist, I don’t think!’

‘Ehhhhhhh? So the guy who made the malt vinegar dessert kept going.”

“So a dessert that makes everyone gag gets you through to the quarter finals???”

After her shock exit, Rana said: “I went, I did my best and I enjoyed it and that’s all that matters. I feel bad, but I get to go home and see my little ones.”
