It comes after Dan revealed he ‘used to cry in the toilets’ while presenting BBC Breakfast during his appearance on last week’s episode of This Morning.
Dan recalled that one of the difficulties of his job was his early start at 3 a.m. and that he suffered from poor sleep deprivation.
Speaking to This Morning hosts Josie Gibson and Dermot O’Leary on the ITV Daytime show, Dan shed light on the downside of waking up double early for work.
He said: ‘When I did BBC Breakfast you know what it’s like. If the alarm goes off at three o’clock, that’s way too early. Isn’t it time for the flight to Spain?
‘I now get up around 5.30/5.45am, which is basically a lie, and I feel great, I feel refreshed and I really enjoy the work I do.
‘On Wednesday I was, as it were, in zombie mode. And it also makes you very emotional. On Wednesday I was like, end of the show, you’re like this, in the toilets, just crying.
‘Everything kills you. Someone says something nice about your pants and you say: [fake cries].
‘Not every day [he cried]but I think you just get a little emotional when you’re sleep deprived.”
