BBC Breakfast’s Naga Munchetty makes a playful dig at Saturday Kitchen’s Matt Tebbutt over his ‘casual’ TV clothes

BBC Breakfast's Naga Munchetty made a playful jab at Saturday Kitchen's Matt Tebbutt this weekend.

The journalist, 48, was co-hosting with Charlie Stayt when she did the usual link to the cooking show in which she poked fun at Matt's clothes.

Matt, 49, was in stark contrast to glamorous wine expert Helen McGinn – who told him he needed to 'up his game' in terms of clothing – as he set out to present the show in a casual blue shirt.

After going over what he was in for on his show, Naga said of his appearance, “Yes, Helen is right, you really need to 'up your subtle real game'!”

As everyone laughed, Matt replied with a smile, “This is my look!” to which Naga then joked, “Exactly!”

Matt then laughed along at her joke and said, “Okay! Enough!'

As they returned to the BBC Breakfast studio, sports presenter Mike Bushell said: 'Well, that told him!'

To which Naga replied, “Well, Helen's there in her velvet jumpsuit looking good, and Matt's just wearing his normal blue shirt!”

It comes after fans last week called for Naga to become the regular presenter of Have I Got News For You.

The broadcaster presented last Friday's edition of the show, along with panellists Ian Hislop and Paul Merton and guest panellists Maisie Adam and Richard Osman.

Fans were quick to call for her to take over the reigns for good after her second stint as guest host.

The current news quiz has been presented by a different celebrity every week since former presenter Angus Deayton was sacked in 2002 about his alleged use of cocaine and prostitutes.

After Naga shared a photo of herself at the panel, fans were quick to praise her presenting performance, saying, “Great hosting. I hope to see you back in the chair soon.';

Naga left the crowd in hysterics during the show as she made a cheeky joke during the Odd One Out round.

She presented the panel with images of a map of Australia, footballer Mo Salah, King Charles' curtains and an iceberg, and tasked them with discovering the anomaly.

As Paul came in to answer, he said the iceberg was “floating away from all the other ice,” adding, “Is it five times the size of Britain, or something?”

Stunned by the size of the iceberg, Maisie said, “What?” while Naga commented: 'It's twice the size of Greater London.'

As the audience laughed at Paul's mistake, he replied:Are there other parts of Britain? You can only say that in front of a London audience, I wouldn't say it in Sheffield.'

The presenter then hit back with her own savage comment, sarcastically saying: 'It's so unlike a man to exaggerate his size, isn't it?'

As Maisie burst into laughter, the audience applauded Naga's cheeky comeback.

Naga is no stranger to cheeky on-screen innuendos, as during a recent appearance on BBC Breakfast she raised eyebrows with a cheeky joke about beavers.

Naga told host Charlie Stayt that she loved the creatures, saying: “I have always loved beavers and always found them fascinating.

'Winnie and Eeyore are such hard workers. To be able to build a 50 meter dam, can you imagine an equal human being doing something like that? It's ridiculous, they would never work that hard.'

Charlie thought about the beavers' names and said they didn't fit the stereotype of “hard workers.”

Laughing, Naga added, “Yes, the real Eeyore, they didn't do much, but there you go. He did that, he thought a lot… but beavers just do that. It's all about the action with the beaver.'

Referring to her cheeky joke, Naga grinned as she turned to the camera as host Charlie walked quickly.
