BBC Breakfast’s Charlie Stayt says he’s willing to die for a part in the hit whodunit Death In Paradise.

‘I’d love to play a part—perhaps as a murderer…or even as a corpse! admits that Charlie, who has a bit of screen experience, appeared as himself in Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day Actually in 2017.

However, the presenter will have to be patient for a while.

Casting has already taken place for the next nine episodes with Les Dennis, Robert Webb, Derry Girl’s Siobhan McSweeney and Cara Theobold (maid Ivy Stuart at Downton Abbey) among those on the brink of being caught up in tragic events in the Caribbean area.

Barney Walsh has also signed up to star in the Death In Paradise Christmas special.

The 24-year-old will know viewers best because he co-starred with his famous father in Bradley Walsh & Son: Breaking Dad, but he’s looking for more acting work.

The Christmas special centers on Les Dennis and Derry Girls’ Siobhan McSweeney of Coronation Street, who join the BBC crime drama for the second celebratory full-length special.

Regulars of the Death in Paradise series Ralf Little (DI Neville Parker), Don Warrington (Commissioner Selwyn Patterson), Élizabeth Bourgine (Catherine Bordey) Tahj Miles (Officer Marlon Pryce), Shantol Jackson (DS Naomi Thomas), and Ginny Holder (Darlene Curtis) will also return.

At the end of the final series, Selwyn slammed out of the sky, leaving fans wondering how the Commissioner will come to terms with the knowledge that he has a daughter.

During the Special, Christmas in Saint Marie takes an eerie twist when an old case of Selwyn’s returns to haunt him after the murder of a true crime podcaster on the hunt for a missing child.

The new series begins with the mysterious death of a famous astronomer and a job change for Darlene.

Meanwhile, Marlon is forced to spend the night in a haunted house and Darlene rethinks her life choices. And after a chance encounter in an airport parking lot, could love finally be in the air for Neville Parker?

Meanwhile, Bradley made his acting debut last year in the debut episode of his father’s show The Larkins – which delighted viewers.

The ITV sitcom, based on the retro series The Darling Buds of May, follows a working-class family living in 1950s Kent – with the 61-year-old The Chase star being the center of attention.

The Breaking Dad star made his unforeseen entrance after Mariette (played by Sabrina Bartlett) and her sister Primrose (Lydia Paige) asked a nearby police officer for help finding a young man.
