Carol previously warmed to the proposition when she announced her involvement with the show earlier this year.
“We got engaged while we were on vacation so that’s great news and we’re both thrilled,” Carol said, adding, “We went on a picnic, I had no idea.”

She continued: ‘The weather was glorious. We were sitting, chatting, my other half was a little nervous for some reason she didn’t know, she was rummaging in her pocket and a ring came out.
“I thought he was joking actually, I didn’t believe him at first, but he was lovely, he was quite romantic.”
Carol previously said that she and her partner agreed to keep their relationship private, but she said that he is “the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”
Speaking to Prima Magazine in 2021, the TV star said: “He always makes me a cup of tea before I go to work in the morning, which is very romantic – it’s 2:45am and he often leaves me a little note from love for when I come home from work. That, to me, is worth a million red roses.’
Carol was previously married to cricketer Jimmy Kirkwood, but the couple separated in 2008 after 18 years of marriage.
