BBC Breakfast favourite Sally Nugent is missing from the morning show weeks after sparking health concerns

Sally Nugent caused concern on BBC Breakfast on Monday morning when she went missing again from the iconic red sofas.

Sally, 52, usually presents the morning program with Jon Kay at the beginning of the week.

But Jon was joined by Sarah Campbell on Monday to catch up on the latest news from 6am – with no mention of Sally’s absence.

Just a few weeks ago, Sally was missing from the show again, while Sarah took over in another shake-up.

Sally appeared hoarse while reading the news and was spotted with Lemsip next to her in the studio.

Viewers urged her to take some time off and get some rest as she was clearly suffering.

The mother-of-one was then forced to take time off the couch as she recovered from the flu, with Sarah once again stepping in to save the day.

In May, Sally and her husband Gavin Hawthorne decided to go their separate ways after 13 years of marriage.

Friends said the couple, who have a teenage son, had “gone in different directions.”

“It’s very sad, but they are no longer together,” the source said.

The source added, “I think they tried to put it off for a while because they didn’t want to break up if they could possibly help it for the sake of their son, but they obviously couldn’t make it.

‘They were both very guarded about the reasons behind their growing apart, but it was clear for a while that that was the case and now it’s clear that they haven’t been able to resolve that, despite trying for a while. ‘

Gavin, with whom Sally shares a teenage son, has reportedly moved out of the couple’s £1.3million home.

The presenter has seen her career go from strength to strength in recent years, from sports journalist to permanent presenter of BBC Breakfast, replacing Louise Minchin at the end of 2021.

BBC Breakfast airs daily from 6am on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
