BBC axes HUGE sitcom after just three series – as devastated cast mourn show’s fate on social media

The Tuckers has been suspended by the BBC after just three series.

The sitcom, which followed a tight-knit family of ‘lovable scoundrels’ in the valleys of Wales, debuted on BBC One in 2020.

With Lynn Hunter, Robert Pugh, Kimberley Nixon and Alexandria Riley leading the cast, their characters often found themselves on the wrong side of the law.

The broadcaster reports this in a statement The sunWe’d like to thank the series’ creator, writer and actor Steve Speirs for bringing the Tuckers to life, as well as the incredible all-Welsh cast who brought the tight-knit family of lovable villains to our screens.

“After three series, we say goodbye to the characters and look forward to announcing some brand new comedy series soon.”

Show creator and lead actor Steve Speirs confirmed the news, writing on Twitter: “For anyone wondering about the next series of TUCKERS…Unfortunately it has not been revived.

“To everyone who has followed the lives of Peggy, Billy, Bobby, Nats, Shaks, Lush, Clock, Dawn and Melvyn… THANK YOU (I’m sure Glyn and Murphy are still arguing over that swamp as I type this) xx.’

Kimberly posted on Instagram: “It is with a heavy heart that I can confirm that The Tuckers are no more.

“We’re not coming back for a series 4, but I have the most incredible memories of working with the most incredible people. We laughed so much. We have to make something at home.

And the biggest thanks to #stevespeirs for putting together such a motley crew.
