Baz Luhrmann and Catherine Martin put to rest split rumors despite uncanny similarities to Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness’s failed marriage
Baz Luhrmann and his wife Catherine Martin appear to be as strong as ever, despite wild speculation about an apparent split.
The lovebirds, who celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary this year, are under scrutiny following the split from friends Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness.
However, the director, 61, confirmed that he and the costume designer, 58, are still very much in love, reported The Daily Telegraph on Saturday.
Nevertheless, there are uncanny similarities between the Luhrmann and Jackman families, which have led some to wrongly believe that Baz’s marriage will fail next.
Hugo54, and his longtime love, 67, were together for 27 years before splitting just after their two children Oscar, 23, and Ava, 18, left the nest.

The couple had also just put their $55 million New York City penthouse up for sale as they looked to move back to Australia.
Meanwhile, Baz and Catherine have been married for 26 years and have just seen their own children Lilly, 20, and William, 18, move out of their home.
They’ve also put their Gilded Age mansion in New York City up for sale for $28 million as they downsize to an empty nester home in Australia.

“Since the pandemic and the making of the film Elvis in Australia, our work has largely kept us away from our base in New York City,” Luhrmann shared. New York Post‘Give me shelter.
