Baywatch actor David Charvet and his son Shaya were spotted on the side of the road in Malibu on Monday, where they appeared to be helping a woman trapped in a Prius after a car accident.

Lyon, France-born Charvet, 50, and his son, 14 – who he shares with daughter Heaven Rain, 15, with ex-wife Brooke Burke, 51 – were among a handful of Good Samaritans spotted next to first responders amid attempts to free the passenger from the vehicle.

Charvet was dressed in a black puffy jacket with a hood from Nike, blue jeans and a black cap that read ‘Heroes Motors’.

The latest: Baywatch actor David Charvet, 50, and his son Shaya, 14, were spotted on the side of the road in Malibu on Monday, where they appeared to be helping a woman trapped in a Prius after a car accident

On the spot: A person appeared to help the driver out of the wrecked vehicle

Shaya was wearing a hooded jacket and black pants and white sneakers. The father and son were among the people gathered at the roadside cafeteria.

The Baywatch alumnus spoke earlier this year about how he voluntarily walked away from a successful Hollywood career to spend more time with his kids.

The French-born former actor and pop star – who played Matt Brody in the 1992-1996 beach rescue drama – said in an interview with Page six he ‘reinvented himself’ to be the ‘father I wanted to be’.

“That means putting your kids to bed every night and you wake up (when they wake up),” he said.

The former singer said he decided to make some lifestyle changes when his first child was born.

“Before I had my first child, I traveled through 42 countries for five years giving concerts for my music. I couldn’t possibly do that again. I had to find another meaning in my life.’

“I didn’t want to go to a TV show that was in Canada, I didn’t want to travel to Europe to make my music. I wanted to stay at home and I wanted to be a good father. I wanted to be there for my children every day.’

Help: The actor-singer was seen on the side of the road approaching the vehicle

Along the way: a number of firefighters and law enforcement officers were seen at the scene

Out and about: the actor looked neat when he was spotted in Los Angeles last week

The actor said he accidentally stumbled upon his new career while building a new home in Malibu in 2006.

The actor-turned-builder explained that he wasn’t happy with the original contractor’s work on the house, so he fired him and took over with the project manager’s help.

“We were done with the house, and every time we invited people in… they said, ‘My God, this house is so beautiful. Do you think you could do it again?”

Charvet’s last on-screen appearance was in 2013’s Prisoners of the Sun. The former actor returned to the small screen for a brief stint in 2017, working with his then-wife Brooke for The New Celebrity Apprentice.

However, the couple divorced the following year, but the divorce was not finalized until 2020.

The two share custody of their children and both say they have moved on amicably. The transition to his new life after two decades in the spotlight was not without regrets.

The former Prisoners of the Sun star said he’s lost his identity for a while, but has come to terms with the change. He said, ‘My job today is to minister to people. I am a service worker. I’m no longer the star.’

Charvet is busy with his new life and career. He is a partner in The Jones Builders Group, a Los Angeles housing company that builds between 10 and 14 homes a year.

From Baywatch to Builder: David Charvet starred in Baywatch with Pamela Anderson from 1992-1995. The former actor said he walked away from a life in the spotlight so he could spend more time with his kids. “I wanted to stay home and be a good father. I wanted to be there for my children every day.’

Loving Father: Charvet is the proud father of daughter Heaven, 15, and son Shaya, 14. The former actor and singer became a builder after he decided he needed to do something different with his career. After helping build his own house in Malibu, Charvet decided to do it full time

Single Dad: The former Melrose Place star shares his children with ex-wife Brooke Burke. The couple broke up in 2018, but didn’t officially divorce until 2020
