Bayern Munich ‘enter the race for £56million Man United target Kim Min-jae’ – with the much sought-after Napoli defender seen as a possible replacement for Lucas Hernandez
- Kim Min-jae was a key part of Napoli’s Serie A win, missing just three games
- The £56 million centre-back has been linked with Manchester United
- Bayern Munich has now ‘entered the race for the 26-year-old’s signautre’
Bayern Munich have ‘entered the race for Napoli defender Kim Min-jae’ as a possible replacement for Lucas Hernandez, who has been ‘courted by Paris-Saint Germain’
Kim was a revelation in his first season in Italy, missing just three league games as Napoli won their first Scudetto in over 30 years.
The 26-year-old’s performances have caught the attention of the likes of Manchester United, who almost bought him for £56 million, and Newcastle.
Another European giant is now on the hunt, with Foot Mercato reports that Bayern are willing to offer the defender ‘£8.5 million’ a year to complete their Premier League campaign.
The interest is believed to stem from uncertainty surrounding Lucas Hernandez, who is reportedly being pursued by PSG.

Bayern Munich are now ‘also excited about the defender’ as a possible replacement for Lucas Hernandez, who is ‘pursued by PSG’
The news comes as a blow to Erik ten Hag after a frustrating transfer window so far
Hernandez, who won the 2018 World Cup with France, has had a tough season after tearing his cruciate ligament in Qatar, but he remains a respected defender and could be fit again by the end of June.
For United it is a major blow to see another big club vie with them for one of their main goals.
They had recently had a £40 million bid for Mason Mount turned down by Chelsea, and it is now considered unlikely to bring in Harry Kane to solve their striker problems.
The Red Devils’ hunt for another Napoli star, Victor Osimhen, has also taken a hit after PSG expressed an interest in the £120m-valued striker.
After a promising season hampered by a lack of depth at United, Erik ten Hag hopes his luck in the transfer market can turn quickly.
An option seen as more realistic is Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund, who scored 10 goals for the club last season and a whopping five in his first two international appearances for Denmark.
The 20-year-old is one of Europe’s most exciting talents and would cost about half the price of Kane and Osimhen.
