According to reports from Portugal, Bayern Munich have opened talks with the agent of Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes ahead of a possible summer transfer.
New Bayern boss Vincent Kompany is keen to add to his squad, with the German club enduring a rare trophyless campaign despite Harry Kane’s impressive goalscoring record since his arrival.
It has already proven to be a summer full of big changes at the Allianz Arena, with Kompany’s appointment as Bayern manager confirmed this week, replacing former boss Thomas Tuchel, who had tried to persuade Bayern to stay at the club.
However, now reports from Portuguese newspaper O Jogo claim that the Bavarian titans have approached Fernandes’ agent, Miguel Pinho, over what would be a sensational move for the United captain.
Although Bayern are reportedly targeting the player, they may have to act quickly as Barcelona are also reportedly interested in signing him.

Fernandes’ future at United is uncertain, especially as it is unclear whether Erik ten Hag will remain in charge of the club.
Fernandes signed up last month The Players’ Stand that he wants to stay at United.
He wrote: ‘I love showing up at Old Trafford more than anything in the world. I don’t want to leave. This has always been my ultimate dream.
‘I just want my expectations to match the expectations of the club. If you go talk to a fan, they’ll tell you the same thing. We want to participate in the competition. We want to play Champions League football. We want to be in the cup final. That’s the standard. That is what I want. That’s what you all deserve.
‘I just want to keep fighting. I want to be here. My family wants to be here.”
Fernandes’ current contract expires in June 2026, but United have a 12-month option. The Portugal international earns £240,000 a week.
The 29-year-old played as United defeated rivals Manchester City 2-1 in the FA Cup final. It was the second trophy he won with the club, after last year’s Carabao Cup.
Since signing for United in January 2020, Fernandes has made 233 appearances, scoring 79 goals and providing 66 assists.
If United were to lose Fernandes it would be a major blow, especially considering they are looking to rebuild.
