Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel has revealed the secret to Harry Kane’s phenomenal success in Germany: an addiction to cappuccino.

On Tuesday, Tuchel challenged Kane to prove a point to the world by guiding Bayern to the semi-finals of the Champions League when they face Real Madrid in the second leg against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu on Wednesday.

The England captain scored a penalty in the 2-2 first leg draw last week and heads into Wednesday’s match having found the net an impressive 44 times in his debut season.

Asked at Tuesday’s press conference in Spain if anything about Kane had surprised him, Tuchel said: ‘Yes, how many cappuccinos does he drink during the day. I was very surprised.

“Every time I go to the kitchen, he’s there. I have now started doing it myself. Look at him, he looks healthy and in good shape.”

Kane has scored 44 goals for Bayern this season and Tuchel believes he could be an important weapon

Bayern are the underdogs for Wednesday’s match, with Real having lost just one game all season.

But former Chelsea manager Tuchel – who will leave Bayern this summer after just one season – believes Kane could be a decisive weapon.

“I knew we would have a big personality in the dressing room, as well as a goalscorer and an example of how to deal with pressure,” said Tuchel.

‘He is the captain of England and he has brought us everything we could have hoped for. Tomorrow he has to prove his point and get results.’
