Bayern Munich 2-1 RB Leipzig: Harry Kane scores late winner to secure three points for Bayern as Thomas Tuchel’s side gain traction in Bundesliga title race

  • Harry Kane opened the scoring for the hosts in the Bundesliga match against Leipzig
  • Thomas Tuchel will leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season
  • Xabi Alonso’s high-flying Leverkusen is currently eight points clear at the top

Bayern Munich gained an important three points in the Bundesliga, as the title seemed out of reach for them.

Harry Kane opened the scoring after a goalless first half, but Benjamin Sesko’s late equalizer canceled out the England captain’s efforts.

Heading into stoppage time, the former Tottenham striker found the back of the net with a thumping left-footed volley to secure all the points for the hosts.

Bayern Munich had lost their last three games in all competitions, including a 3-0 defeat to title contenders Leverkusen.

Eric Dier made a start for the hosts when Kim Min-jae was dropped to the bench, and the ex-Tottenham defender’s involvement in the winning goal led to Kane securing a victory.

Following the news that boss Thomas Tuchel will leave at the end of the season, and with title rival Leverkusen’s boss Xabi Alonso a potential replacement, things have been turbulent at Bayern both on and off the pitch.
