Bayer Leverkusen is preparing for the departure of Xabi Alonso in the summer, according to reports.

Alonso is one of the most in-demand coaches in the world after a hugely successful season with Bayer Leverkusen, which saw them win the Bundesliga title unbeaten.

The German side also won the DFB-Pokal and reached the final of the Europa League, where they were defeated by Atalanta.

Alonso turned down the opportunity to replace Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool and stayed with Leverkusen.
