Batman’s new werewolf fighting book is dripping with atmosphere

Batman: Full Moon is the latest Black Label miniseries from DC Comics, and artist Stevan Subic (The Riddle: Year One) has really paid off Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark I’m excited.

DC’s press release promises “an ancient and supernatural force” stalking the streets of Gotham, “a werewolf so powerful he will defy Batman’s most trusted resources: his brilliant mind and elaborate gadgets.” But the four pages of Subic’s work revealed inside promise sickly colors, a truly monstrous monster, and a dark, ghostly Batman.

Subic teams up with Rodney Barnes (writer behind the Eisner-nominated urban vampire series Killadelphia) for the 4-issue miniseries, which will be printed with glow-in-the-dark main covers. And if that screams “Halloween” to you, well, Batman: Full Moon #1 will hit stores on October 9th, just in time for the holidays. (That’s not a full moon, so you’ll be safe from werewolves if you go out to buy a copy.)

Check out Subic’s main cover and variants by Francesco Francavilla and Mike Perkins below!
