A Bahurst 1000 driver has reportedly ‘lost everything’ after a massive fire engulfed his Gold Coast home while he was racing at the Bathurst 1000 on Saturday afternoon.
Brad Jones Racing driver Declan Fraser had teamed up with Andre Heimgartner for Sunday’s big race at Mount Panorama and learned of the devastating fire during the event.
Several fire trucks were called to the home on Hope Island Seven news revealed on Sunday afternoon that the house belonged to 24-year-old Fraser.
Fox Sports commentator Neil Crompton had revealed the extent of the fire during a live broadcast on Sunday.
“When (Heimgartner) did his Top-10 Shootout there, (Fraser’s) house burned down,” Crompton told Fox Motorsport on Sunday.

Fox sports understands Fraser, 24, had recently moved to Hope Island from Melbourne.
Local reports have confirmed that no one was injured in the fire.

Mark Walding from the Gold Coast Fire Service added: “It’s been largely gutted so the house will have to be completely demolished and rebuilt.”
