Telling detail of bathroom seen on real estate listing slammed as a ‘hygiene disaster’ waiting to happen
- A shower in Newtown has caused laughter and commotion.
- He was photographed naked next to a toilet and sink in a rental
- One online user called the study a “hygiene disaster.”
A shower head in the bathroom of a rental property has been labeled a potential “hygiene disaster” after it was spotted in a tight space between a toilet and a small sink with no curtains or glass.
An image of the bizarre bathroom setup was posted online this week in a listing for one of at least six studios on Wilson Street, Newtown, in Sydney’s inner west.
It depicted a shower head and faucet handles protruding from the wall in a space that would normally be reserved for just a toilet and sink.
“I’m not a plumber, but I feel like this idea for a bathroom is a hygiene disaster waiting to happen,” the post read.
“I’ve never seen a bathroom that’s designed in the shape of a matchbox with the sink, then the shower, then the toilet in that order and no shower curtains in between.”

Another image uploaded online revealed what appears to be a kitchenette in the same unit showing a “garden faucet” just above the sink (pictured)
The beige bathroom also sported a towel hook over the toilet and a shelf ideal for storing toilet paper.
The shower space also featured a soap dish set high on the wall next to a mirror above the sink.

The unit is one of six studios that have since rented for between $320 and $380 each.
I would hate to slip in that shower. Landing badly in the sink or toilet could be devastating,” one person on the list commented.
“I think toilet paper getting wet would be my biggest annoyance here,” said another.
‘Cousin!! your toilet will always be clean!’ said an optimist.

“That bathroom would be a deal breaker for a lot of people I think, there’s no way I could live with a bathroom like that,” one wrote.
“That bathroom arrangement is common in many parts of the world,” said another.
“It bothers me that the toilet is not centered,” one more joked.
But others focused on the faucet and sink setup: “I’m more concerned with the garden faucet in the kitchen,” wrote one.
‘And? There is no hot water in the kitchen,’ asked another.
