Basketball Wives star Evelyn Lozada calls off her engagement to LaVon Lewis: ‘It just started becoming difficult’

Evelyn Lozada revealed that she ended her engagement to Lavon Lewis during an interview with Us Weekly which was published on Thursday.

The 47-year-old reality star and the 42-year-old entrepreneur got engaged last December after appearing on the dating series The Queen’s Court, which premiered on Peacock last March.

The Basketball Wives star, who was briefly linked to Marc Anthony, has since spoken out about the end of her relationship, which she partly attributes to their brief period of dating.

‘Things were moving so fast. Six months later we were engaged, and I felt a little disconnected. And the distance that she lives in Atlanta, that was another thing that was really, really difficult,” she said.

Lozada also stated that Luis’ family life and their commitment to exploring their romance on camera became a problem.

She said: “He has a son who is, I believe, in his first year of high school or going to high school. There were a lot of moving parts and it started to get difficult, and I just said, “I don’t want to keep doing this just for the world.”

The entrepreneur then noted that she felt unable to form a strong relationship with Louis while working at the Queen’s Court.

“You ask 1,000,001 questions when you’re dating these different guys on the show. And we tried to spend as much time as possible. He would travel here to LA at least once a month,” she said.

Lozada stated that her amicable breakup was ultimately “the right thing to do” and that she feels “happy that we can just be mature and friends.”

She also stated that she wants Louis to find an “amazing woman. I will be at his wedding. He is a big person. I’m just happy he’s not bitter or we’re not in a negative space. I feel like all breakups don’t have to end that way.’

Lozada went on to talk about her past marriage to Chad Johnson, which lasted just over two months in 2012.

The reality TV personality ended her relationship with the former footballer after he was arrested on domestic assault charges, which he eventually pleaded no contest to.

The entrepreneur also discussed how Johnson’s behavior has affected her outlook on relationships in the years since their split.
