The Milwaukee Brewers are reportedly on the verge of signing highly rated outfield prospect Jackson Chourio to the largest rookie contract in MLB history.
According to CBS, the 19-year-old will agree to terms on a massive eight-year contract worth nearly $80 million.
That would mean Chourio would break the current record for the largest deal given to a player who has not yet played in the MLB.
That’s currently owned by White Sox outfielder Luis Robert, who signed a six-year, $50 million contract with Chicago in 2020.
More to follow.
