Bartender reveals the rude things you should NEVER do when ordering a drink, but how many are YOU guilty of?
If you want to avoid ruining your bartender’s evening, a bar worker has revealed the rude comments and actions a customer should never say or do when at the bar.
These include avoiding mentioning your own past experience at the bar, placing finished gum in your empty glass, or snapping your fingers at a staff member to get their attention that you’re next in line.
speaking to the daily recordClaire Twist, event waitress and bar training expert at Off to Work Edinburgh academy shared some of the worst mistakes customers can make when ordering their drinks.
She insisted that a good customer should never brag about his past bar experience if a bartender isn’t making a drink the way he wants.
Instead, it’s best to offer any advice you may have before they start making the drink to avoid any upset.

In other places, trying to get a staff member’s attention when you’re at the bar is a big no-no, and Claire insists that many workers will already know who’s going to be served next.
“I think snapping your fingers at a bartender is just rude. The same goes for leaning over the bar, trying to get served next,” she said.
‘Trust that the bartender serving is a professional and will be aware of who will be served next. I teach new bartenders that a quick ‘I’ll be with you’ can help reassure customers that they’ve been seen.’
She also explained that you should definitely avoid chewing gum on a night out and then leaving it in your empty glass.
The bartender said: ‘Either people don’t realize someone has to reach in to pick up the used gum, or they don’t care. A simple rule of thumb: if you wouldn’t do it at home, don’t do it in a bar!’
Claire also suggested that a huge request that takes five minutes or more to remember should be written on a note to pass on to the staff worker.
Finally, he shared how ordering drinks in a group is easier for the bartenders making their drinks.
Meanwhile, last year, a former flight attendant revealed the type of cabin crew he hates the most.
Speaking to The Daily Record, Claire Twist, event waitress and bar training expert at the Off to Work Edinburgh academy, shared some of the worst mistakes customers can make when ordering their drinks.
Kat Kamalani, from the US, worked on planes for six years and posted a TikTok video saying it’s not the babies that bother the crew, it’s the people who complain about the babies.
The social media star and mother of two explained that there is nothing worse than this type of complaint because it makes both parents and staff uncomfortable.
“I promise you, there is nothing that irritates us more as a flight attendant when people complain about a crying baby,” Kat said in the video.
‘Don’t even ask to be moved, no one wants that baby to stop crying more than that parent. So if she’s on the road, bring noise-cancelling headphones, or maybe ask the parents if they need help.
The short video was viewed more than 1.4 million times and thousands commented on the topic accordingly.
