He was the star of Saltburn – last year’s ‘most talked about film’ – and the virality of the final scene, in which he dances naked, took him to a new level of fame as an international heartthrob.
But Barry Keoghan’s meteoric rise paled into insignificance as he stood next to Taylor Swift in the crowd at the Coachella Festival on Saturday night as fans asked: ‘Is that the guy from Saltburn?’
In a video, fans clamored to reach Taylor, 34, as she headed into the pit to watch Ice Spice perform with her American football star boyfriend Travis Kelce, 34, Barry and his girlfriend Sabrina Carpenter – who supported Taylor at the Oz- leg of her Eras tour.
Barry, 31, spoke animatedly with the Midnights singer and stood out from the group by wearing a bright blue baseball cap with a Burberry bandana over his mouth, matching shorts and a white tank top that showed off his famous muscular arms.
But the Oscar-nominated actor was completely overlooked as the crowd didn’t notice him and just shouted for Taylor and his espresso singer girlfriend Sabrina – who had performed her set earlier that day.

Finally someone shouted, “Wait, that’s the guy from Saltburn?” In the background a fan can still be heard shouting: ‘Let’s look at a picture?’
After a moment, both voices, deciding it was Keoghan, started shouting, “Barry.”
The video ends with the person filming shouting, “Barry, I’m going to make you go viral!”
Barry is no stranger to ‘going viral’ after the Irish actor famously ended 2023’s most ‘famous film’ Saltburn by dancing around a Northamptonshire country house completely naked.
The scene, along with Barry, became a TikTok sensation last summer, with users recreating the risqué clip – with their clothes on – from Murder On The Dancefloor.
Directed by Emerald Fennell, Saltburn earned Barry a BAFTA nomination for Best Actor last year and took him to the top of the IMDB StarMeter, where he held the number one spot.

The father-of-one was previously nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in his role opposite Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson in Martin McDonagh’s Banshees of Inisherin.
But his various accolades didn’t earn him the same star-quality reception as his new girlfriend Ms. Swift or her boyfriend Travis Kelce over the weekend at Coachella – a festival held over two weekends in the Californian desert.
Swifties – Taylor Swift fans – are calling 24-year-old Sabrina ‘Taylor’s little sister’ after she supported her on the Australian leg of her record-breaking Eras Tour in February.
