Barry Hall and Lauren Brant’s maternity shoot featuring a bowl full of placenta is brutally slammed: ‘Doesn’t need to be so graphically public’

Lauren Brant and Barry Hall have come under heavy fire for their revealing home birth photoshoot announcing the birth of their fourth child, Clay.

Over the weekend, the couple shared a series of photos showing them holding Clay in a birthing pool lit with red lights, and Lauren lying on the bed cuddling the newborn as a bowl of placenta sits next to them.

“CLAY,” were the parents’ captions for the photo series.

“Our son was born on 20.7.24 at 8:33pm into our loving arms at home. It was magical,” the post continued.

“We are all in the most beautiful bubble of love and are being held and supported by our incredible community. We look forward to sharing our homebirth story with you.”

Commentators were quick to criticize the couple for showing too much in the photos.

“The birthing pool is too big… it reminds me of a horror movie,” one person wrote.

“You are not superheroes and women have been having children since the beginning of time.”

Another chimed in: ‘Seriously. Is there nothing private anymore? Why not keep that moment within the family? Billions of women have children. We all think it’s special, but guess what. It’s only special if you, your family.’

However, it wasn’t all negative, as many fans raved about the Instagram post.
