Barnaby Joyce sends a thank you note to Kyle Sandilands for his support after he was found lying on Canberra footpath

Barnaby Joyce sent a thank you note to Kyle Sandilands after the radio host voiced his support for the former deputy prime minister when he was found lying on a footpath in Canberra earlier this month.

Co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, 49, read the letter live on Wednesday morning after she believed the note was intended for her.

It read: ‘Dear Kyle, this is just a thank you for your support during the little lounge I had! Anyway, my fault, but your support is much appreciated. Thanks, Barnaby.’

“Ah, that’s nice, add that to the other Barnaby thank you letters,” 52-year-old Sandilands joked in response.

Daily Mail Australia revealed the exclusive video of Joyce, 56, stretched out on the footpath on Lonsdale Street, in the suburb of Braddon, around midnight three weeks ago.

Despite the couple’s turbulent history, Sandilands chose to defend Joyce by criticizing the person who filmed him, amid calls for the MP to resign.

“Instead of the guy offering help, this kind of TikTok age, the guy thought it would be funny to film him and not even ask him, “Are you okay?” That’s some pretty s**t,” Sandilands said at the time.

Joyce is taking time off from Parliament this week after being urged to take leave to deal with ‘personal matters’.

Sources said the Nationals frontbencher was sitting on a large potted plant while having an animated phone conversation with his wife, Vikki Campion, when he fell off, ‘rolled on the floor’ and continued with his phone call.

Joyce has since blamed mixing prescription drugs with alcohol for his behavior.

Sandilands’ feud with Joyce began when the politician filed an official complaint with the media watchdog in 2015 after the radio host verbally abused him during a broadcast.

The heated segment, which took place on KIIS FM in March 2015, involved actor Johnny Depp’s dogs Pistol and Boo being smuggled into Australia.
