  • A dog has been spotted behind the wheel in Rheinbach, Germany

A daredevil dog has been spotted behind the wheel of a speeding car at 60 km/h, leaving police officers speechless.

Footage from a speed camera on a country road in Rheinbach, near Cologne, Germany, showed a dog appearing to be in the driver’s seat and traveling faster than the legal limit.

The small car was traveling at 7 mph above the speed limit on the road.

Police officers were shocked to catch the dog, who appears to be concentrating very hard and breaking the law.

The dog had most likely moved a little way off the passenger seat when the flash fired, obscuring the driver’s face.

The dog, who appears to be very focused, was pictured behind the wheel of the small car driving down a country road in Rheinbach, near Cologne, Germany

But because the owner’s face was not captured on camera, they may be able to avoid a fine, as police were unable to identify who was driving the vehicle.

A police spokesman said so Image: ‘The fine letter is on its way. 11 km/h is too much in the city, you will probably have to pay 50 euros.

“But since the unknown speeder couldn’t be identified, he or she got away with it.”

In Germany, dogs are allowed in the car next to you, as long as they wear a seatbelt.

The dog in this photo appears to be tied up according to the law.

Smaller dogs must be carried in suitcases when traveling in a vehicle.
