Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski was reportedly involved in a post-match brawl with teammate Ansu Fati following the club’s exit from the Europa League on Thursday night.

The Spanish Giants were knocked out of the competition following a 2-1 loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford, and Xavi’s men went 4-3 on aggregate at the hands of the Red Devils.

Lewandowski did get on the scoreboard from the penalty spot, but was visibly frustrated later in the match when Fati got in the way of a cross that was intended for Barcelona’s number nine.

Those frustrations didn’t stop once the team returned to the locker room and, according to ASthe 34-year-old confronted Fati and relayed his grievances to his teammate.

The report details that the Polish striker was “good” during his complaints, but pointed out to the Spanish youngster that it was not the first time it had happened.

Fati then defended himself by stating that he had not seen Lewandowski during the move, prompting him to attempt to reach the end of the cross.

Lewandowski has been a huge success for the Catalans, scoring 25 goals in 30 games since moving from Bayern Munich in the summer.

His goals have contributed to Barcelona’s healthy lead at the top of LaLiga, where they rival Real Madrid by eight points with 16 games remaining in the campaign.

Xavi’s men are also still in the Cop del Rey and on Thursday they will face Real Madrid in the first leg of the semifinals. However, their European campaign has come to an end after United’s defeat.

There was no sign from the normally mild-mannered Lewandowski of his frustrations in a post-match message he posted on social media, reflecting on the events of the night.

“We fought until the last minute, but unfortunately it wasn’t enough tonight.” Lewandowski said.

We are disappointed, but we still have trophies to win this season. Thanks for your support.’

Barcelona return to action tomorrow, when they travel to La Liga-battling Almería, 24 hours after title rivals Real host Atlético in the Madrid derby.
