Spanish giants Barcelona have shared brand new photos of their redesigned Nou Camp stadium as they announced their plans to move back before the end of the season.

After winning the LaLiga title in June 2023, the Catalan giants began work on their world-famous stadium as part of a £1.25 billion renovation project to increase capacity to 105,000.

Since then, they have played their matches at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys while eyeing a possible return to Camp Nou for the club’s 125th anniversary on November 29.

However, a statement from the club has confirmed that the move-in date will be postponed as they now target a return in the second half of the season.

Barcelona vice-president Elena Fort said: ‘There are no exact dates for returning to the stadium. We can’t say that yet, but we are on the right track.

She added: “The council knows our full plan. We follow all safety protocols and have received the green light from various institutions.

‘Now we have to work quickly to get the permit back for the reopening of the stadium and to implement everything.’

Along with an update on their return, the Blaugranas shared new images of their iconic ground, showing the significant changes to the stadium.

The future Nou Camp will include an aerial viewing platform to attract football fans and tourists, making it one of the stadium’s most notable features.

In addition, the new location will have the largest stadium roof in Europe.

The images give a taste of what Barcelona players, such as Lamine Yamal or Dani Olmo, will see when they take their first steps on the pitch.

Fans will enjoy a completely new view and experience of Blaugrana’s games as the modern Nou Camp will feature three large screens aimed at enhancing the experience of sporting enjoyment.

The stadium will reportedly use green energy sources via 18,000 m2 of solar panels, produce its own energy and generate no CO2 emissions.
