Barcelona 4-2 Spurs: Late goals from Ansu Fati and Abde Ezzalzouli ruin Tottenham’s night after Oliver Skipp double
Barcelona 4-2 Tottenham Hotspur: Spurs BLOW lead given by Oliver Skipp’s double as Ansu Fati reaches winner in 90th minute before Catalans add a fourth in stoppage time of final pre-season friendly
Late goals from Ansu Fati and Abde Ezzalzouli saw Barcelona win 4-2 against Spurs in the Joan Gamper Trophy, despite two goals from Oliver Skipp.
The winners of the last gasp tore the wind out of Ange Postecoglou’s side – and ruined Skipp’s new-found kingship – after what had been an generally encouraging evening for the Londoners.
Robert Lewandowski opened the scoring three minutes before two Skipp goals gave Spurs an unexpected lead going into half time at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys.
But Barcelona were the better side for most of the game and when Ferran Torres struck with ten minutes left it looked like they would go on and win.
Substitutes Fati and Ezzalzouli finished the job for Barça as Spurs’ resolute defense evaporated and Postecoglou will wonder how victory slipped from his grasp.
More to follow.
