Akhil Handa, the former Chief Digital Officer (CDO) of public sector Bank of Baroda’s (BoB’s), on November 4 stated that he had resigned and was not fired, reported Money control.
“My departure was a personal decision that I conveyed to top management in August and I have since served my notice period. The termination story appears to be a distraction from operational shortcomings at the industry level,” Handa said in a statement.

According to the report, he stated in the resignation letter that he would honor a three-month notice period.
Handa, who had worked at BoB for ten years, played an important role in setting up the ‘bob World’ app.
He issued the statement after Managing Director and CEO Debadatta Chand, while addressing the media on November 4, stated that the bank had taken action at the field and corporate level, including terminating Handa over the BOB World incident.
“We have also said things before; a few things have also come out in the media, we have taken a lot of actions (including against people on the field).
As far as the Chief Digital Officer is concerned, this is a termination and currently we have someone appointed as CDO,” Chand said at the press conference after the results.
