Bam Margera is joined by pal Lamar Odom while on path to sobriety after put on 5150 psychiatric hold

Bam Margera stepped out for a leisurely walk in Calabasas on Thursday and was joined on the short excursion by a close friend, Lamar Odom.

The TV personality, 43, was “placed on 5150 psychiatric watch” earlier this month after threatening to “smoke crack until I’m dead” unless he could get in touch with his five-year-old son, Phoenix.

According to TMZ, the former professional skateboarder has since been treated at one of the former NBA star’s rehabilitation centers.

The filmmaker dressed smartly for the walk, opting to wear a black short-sleeved T-shirt and black shorts.

He put on comfortable tan and black colored sneakers fastened with laces, and added an assortment of gold and silver chain necklaces to his shirt.

The Jackass star flashed a small smile as he took in some fresh summer air and struck up a conversation with Lamar as the two pals enjoyed a walk together.

The outing comes shortly after Bam was placed in a 5150 psychiatric facility earlier this month in June after threatening to take his own life unless he was able to have contact and see his son Phoenix, who he shares with his estranged wife, Nicole Boyd.

Margera had made the threats in question on Instagram and went missing soon after, prompting his brother, Jess Margera, to turn to the public for help in locating his sibling.

“If anyone in the LA area knows where Bam is currently located or a hotel where he is located, please contact the LAPD immediately,” he had tweeted at the time.

Jess had added that officers tried to ping Bam’s phone, but said, “I don’t think we have that much time.”

However, the TV personality was found and placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold following a spiral of disturbing behavior.

The star, who is currently embroiled in a nasty custody battle with his estranged wife, who he claimed at the time is keeping him away from son Phoenix, has sparked mass concern with his social media tirades – and is considered a danger to himself and others, reported TMZ.

LAPD officers found him at Trejo’s Tacos on June 4 by tracking his phone — and called in a psychiatric evaluation team. It was alleged that when they met Bam, they decided he should be placed under a 5150.

Bam was taken to a mental health facility and has since been treated by staying at one of Lamar’s rehab centers.

Notably, the former professional basketball player, who overdosed in 2015, bought a total of three drug treatment centers in California, reported TMZ in April.

While one house is ‘a residential care center for women’, the other houses focus on ‘men’s detoxification and residential treatment’.

According to Odom’s representative, the athlete herself vowed to be “very involved” with patients on their own journey to recovery and that he is “ready to start saving lives.”

Bam’s rehab comes after he threatened to “smoke crack” until he’s dead unless he is allowed to see his son amid an ongoing divorce battle with his wife.

The former Jackass star claimed she had cut off contact with their son Phoenix for the past two months. He posted a tirade on social media lashing out at his family and his estranged wife, saying they are driving him to drink.

Margera then threatened to go down the boardwalk to smoke crack with the homeless until he dies or until he is allowed to see his son.

According to his attorney Peter W. Thompson, he had not seen Phoenix since March 29 during a personal visit in California and was not allowed to communicate with his child by phone or FaceTime.

His wife’s lawyer issued a statement about Margera’s video, urging the TV stuntman to stay sober.

Margera split with Boyd in 2021 and went to court in September of that year to seek full custody of their son.

She filed for divorce in February due to irreconcilable differences and petitioned the court to award her $15,000 a month in child support, as well as legal and physical custody of their child.

In the documents, Boyd said Margera is allowed to see their child as long as he is supervised and he completes rehab for drug and alcohol problems.

But Margera has been trying to get the judge overseeing the divorce case to dismiss the case while also trying to take the next hearing to the next level, according to documents obtained by TMZ.

The reality star claims his ex won’t allow him to see their young son Phoenix, though she claimed in her own filing that his lack of visits is due to his own bad behaviour.

however, the outlet reported earlier this week on Tuesday that Bam’s estranged wife is now allowing the Jackass star to communicate with their son via Facetime during his stay in rehab, according to her attorney, David Glass.

The short video sessions are “modulated by one of Bam’s therapists,” and sources close to the TV personality told TMZ that “Bam is still undergoing treatment at one of Lamar Odom’s rehab centers, and Nikki isn’t talking to him during the FaceTime calls.” .’

Margera has previously checked into rehab centers on several occasions starting in 2009. And last year, in June 2022, the star went missing after leaving rehab.

He was found soon after and returned to the rehabilitation center, but was reported missing again later that same month. Bam was soon located and checked into another facility.

Earlier this year, before his alarmist rant on social media and placement in a 5150 psychiatric cell, he was arrested in March for public intoxication.
