Baltimore Orioles land Corbin Burnes after acquiring the 2021 Cy Young winning pitcher from the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for a package of prospects
According to multiple reports, the Milwaukee Brewers are sending star pitcher Corbin Burnes to the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for a package of prospects.
Burnes is a three-time All-Star and won the 2021 National League Cy Young Award as one of the top two pitchers in baseball.
This news comes just a day after Orioles owners confirmed they would sell the team to an ownership group led by private equity investors.
The player package heading to Milwaukee includes infielder Joey Ortiz, pitcher DL Hall and the 34th pick in the upcoming 2024 MLB Draft.
Burnes recently signed a deal with the Brewers to avoid arbitration, agreeing to a one-year contract worth $15 million.
