Aussies divided over ‘disgusting’ note left by driver: ‘My IQ actually dropped’

Aussies have hit out after an angry note was left on the windscreen of a car belonging to an 83-year-old woman with a disability.

The disgruntled driver left the note on the vehicle parked at Balmoral Beach, near Mosman, on Sydney’s leafy lower north shore, on Friday afternoon.

The author apparently did not notice the elderly woman’s parking permit and wrote the note – which contained several spelling errors – to express their frustration.

“Park well, grunk, we all want to park, luckily I won’t slash the tires,” the handwritten note read.

The woman’s son shared a photo of the “disgusting” note to a local Facebook group.

“My mother, who is disabled, parked her car on Balmoral Beach this afternoon and found this awful letter on her windscreen,” he wrote.

‘Even if the disabled sticker is visible. Next time learn how to spell too.’

Dozens of Australians blasted the note and its author in the comments.

The irate person seemed to have taken exception to the elderly woman’s parking lot and wrote the note (pictured) with several spelling mistakes to express his frustration.

“Disgusting on so many levels,” one person wrote.

“This note is awful,” someone else wrote.

“I hope that person can park better than he can spell,” a third added.

“Sounds more like a parking problem than a spelling problem,” a fourth agreed.

Some were baffled by spelling errors in the note.

“My IQ actually dropped while reading that note,” one person joked.

“I’m not sure what I’m more offended by… the message of the note or the terrible spelling,” said another.

Better education could lead to a little class. One, learn to spell and two, it’s unnecessary to leave this message to everyone in the car. Try to smile, it’s free,” said a third.

There is accessible parking near Balmoral Beach at Balmoral South End and at Clifton Gardens Reserve. There are also a total of four disabled parking spaces at The Spit East Side and West Side.

Parking at the popular beach can be expensive, with motorists having to pay a $10 per hour fee for on-street parking during the peak season between October and April.
