Balmoral Beach P-plate car crash: Wild scenes at one of Sydney’s most popular beaches
A P-plater has lost control of his vehicle and plunged off a footpath on one of Sydney’s busiest beaches, narrowly avoiding shocked families.
Balmoral Beach on Sydney’s north shore was packed with Sydneysiders enjoying a lunchtime swim and had to flee for their lives after the vehicle ended up on the sand about 1.30pm on Monday.
In photos provided to Daily Mail Australia, the green Kia SUV is seen upside down on the sand as dozens of stunned beachgoers look on.
“Dearly missed young families enjoying the sun,” one witness recalled.
“We were sunbathing twelve meters away.”
The occupants of the vehicle were able to escape the wreck unharmed thanks to help from beachgoers.
The ambulance crew is currently being treated on site for shock.
No bystanders were injured.
The police are on site and it is expected that the car will be towed away.
