The sudden death of the son of a socialite from Sydney’s eastern suburbs remains shrouded in mystery after he was discovered face down in a Balinese swimming pool.

Aston Viewer, an 18-year-old fashion model from Sydney was found dead in a swimming pool on August 22, prompting police to launch an investigation when they were notified of the death.

His distraught mother, interior designer Amanda Lennon, told friends she only learned about her son’s death – and his funeral – through a text message from her former husband, Saxon Looker.

“Her ex cremated him before she arrived in Bali,” said a friend.

“She received a text from Saxon saying: ‘Aston cremated’.”

Close friends said Ms Lennon, also a former model, is distraught over the loss of her eldest child but broke cover last week to join Sydney’s elite for a glamor lunch.

“As you can imagine, she is beside herself with grief,” said a friend. “There is still a deep mystery surrounding his death that she continues to struggle with.”
