Baldur’s Gate 3 hotfix prevents Minthara from exerting ‘a little too much independence’
A new Baldur’s Gate 3 hotfix has been implemented on PC, PlayStation 5, and Mac, preventing drow companion Minthara from “perhaps exerting a little too much independence” and refusing to tag along on your party’s adventures, along with a plethora of other fixes.
First off, Xbox Series So it’s not clear exactly when it will happen, but watch this space for now.
As for what hotfix 20 includes, as mentioned above, two of the most notable changes surround Minthara. One of these solutions ensures that she actually follows your party properly during the second and third acts of the game, while the other allows you to remove her from your party after she has been escorted from the Moonrise Towers, as she can be stuck there get seated.
“Did Minthara exude a little too much independence perhaps? We fixed an issue where everyone’s favorite drow would simply decide not to join the party in Act 2 or Act 3,” Larian Studios wrote in the latest patch notes. “You should find her more willing to queue now – at least in terms of keeping up.” She’s still a bit of a free spirit.
Furthermore, some additional crash protections have now been implemented to ensure that if one of your save files fails to load, you are automatically returned to the main menu. Another potential crash that might have been caused by particularly “complex cinematics” has also been fixed, and an issue where characters would sometimes tell you they were too busy to talk to you has been fixed – funnily enough, Larian said the characters “we lie.”
