Balatro gets new decks inspired by The Witcher, Vampire Survivors, Dave The Diver, and Among Us in a free update today
LocalThunk has released a free update for its roguelike card game Balatrowith decks inspired by The Witcher, Vampire Survivors, Dave the DiverAnd Among us.
The announcement kicked off today’s Nintendo Direct IndieWorld Partner Showcase, where it was revealed that the free Balatro: Friends of Jimbo The update is now available on all platforms, including PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S.
From the gameplay trailer you can check out below, we can see that each new deck included in the free update will feature thematic cards inspired by their respective collaborations.
For example, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt deck contains cards with designs based on the series’ main characters, Geralt of Rivia and Yennefer of Vengerberg. It seems that the Vampire Survivors, Dave the DiverAnd Among us Decks also feature characters and locations from their games.
LocalThunk also seemed to suggest that there was more Balatro Collaborations will follow in the future, as the end of the trailer suggests: “That’s enough… for now,” suggesting that there is more to come.
Balatro launched earlier this year and is a poker-inspired roguelike card game with satisfying deckbuilding mechanics, boss battles, a deep campaign mode with eight difficulty levels, as well as challenges and seeded runs.
“Combine valid poker hands with unique Joker cards to create varied synergies and builds,” the description reads. “Earn enough chips to beat the cunning blinds, while discovering hidden bonus hands and decks as you progress. You’ll need every edge you can get to reach the boss blind, beat the final ante, and secure victory.”
It is one of Steam’s most popular games in 2024, ranking at a “Overwhelmingly positive” rating with over 41,140 reviews.
