NSW Police and ambulance paramedics received multiple calls for assistance around 7pm

The 18-year-old was treated by paramedics at the scene for a stab wound to the chest.

He was rushed to Shoalhaven Hospital in critical condition, but died a short time later.

Police are investigating the events surrounding the boy’s death and said all witnesses are cooperating.

Acting Detective Inspector Ian Griffin urged anyone with information or CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.

“It’s a terrible set of circumstances, but there is certainly nothing in our investigation that should cause concern to the community and we will continue to try to find out what happened,” Insp Griffin said.

“It’s too early to speculate at this point, but our eyes are open to all possibilities.”

Neighbor Gage Hood told 9News that the whole scene was “pretty eventful” and questioned how the tragic death happened.

“The story was that someone fell on a knife, but you don’t fall on a knife,” he said.

As news of the teen’s death spread, friends and family began sharing tributes online.

‘I love you forever, my beautiful baby cousin. I’m going to be lost without you, I still don’t want to except you’re not here anymore and I can’t call you or see you at family events,” Bailey’s cousin wrote in a moving tribute on Facebook.

‘It already hurts so much that you left a hole in my heart that will never go Christmas without you, not sharing birthdays, please just come home, I don’t want you to go, life is so cruel.

“I’ll see you soon at the slide, hopefully I’ll go straight to find you so I can hug you and never let you go.”

Bailey’s aunt also wrote on Facebook: ‘Rest in peace Bails, I know Nanny will take care of you.’
