Emily Blunt, Carey Mulligan, Rosamund Pike and Claire Foy lead the British stars nominated for this year’s BAFTA Film Awards.
The nominations for the 2024 ceremony on February 18 were announced on Thursday, with other British stars including Christopher Nolan, Jonathan Glazer and Vivian Oparah nodding.
Carey is nominated in the Leading Actress category for her role as actress Felicia Montealegre Bernstein in Maestro opposite Bradley Cooper.
She will be joined by Vivian Oparah, who is set to reprise her role in the romantic comedy Rye Lane.
They will compete for the award alongside Fantasia Barrino for The Color Purple, Margot Robbie for Barbie and Emma Stone for Poor Things.

In the Supporting Actress category, Emily is nominated for Oppenheimer, Rosamund for Saltburn and Claire for All Of Us Strangers.
They are up against Danielle Brooks for The Color Purple, Sandra Huller for Zone Of Interest and Da’Vine Joy Randolph for The Handovers.
Meanwhile, Christopher Nolan was nominated for director for his work on Oppenheimer, which received the most nominations of any film with 13.
He is joined by Jonathan Glazer, nominated for The Zone Of Interest, and Andrew Haigh for All Of Us Strangers.
Oppenheimer, a box office hit when it was released in cinemas last year on the same day as Barbie – sparking the Barbenheimer phenomenon – marks a crowning achievement for Nolan, who has never won the directing Bafta.
In addition to his directing nomination, Andrew Haigh was also nominated for adapted screenplay for All Of Us Strangers.
The films nominated for Outstanding British Film were All Of Us Strangers, How To Have Sex, Napoleon, The Old Oak, Poor Things, Rye Lane, Saltburn, Scrapper, Wonka and The Zone Of Interest.
For the best picture award, Oppenheimer is competing against the gothic fairytale Poor Things, which scored 11 nods.
Also in the running is French courtroom drama Anatomy Of A Fall, Martin Scorsese’s Western crime thriller Killers Of The Flower Moon and The Holdovers, about a grumpy high school teacher forced to stay on campus with a troubled student during the holidays.
Notably absent from the category is Barbie, the highest-grossing film of 2023, while director Greta Gerwig is also absent from the directing category.
The 2024 BAFTA nominations were announced on Thursday by former EE Rising Star nominees Naomi Ackie and Kingsley Ben-Adir from the arts charity’s headquarters at 195 Piccadilly, London.
David Tennant will host the awards ceremony next month.
The Doctor Who star, 52, takes over the coveted spot from last year’s presenters Alison Hammond and Richard E Grant.
Although David is no stranger to the ceremony, having previously presented an award at the BAFTA Television Awards in May, this will be his hosting debut.
Speaking about his guest stint, the Good Omens star said: ‘I’m thrilled to have been asked to host the EE BAFTA Film Awards and help celebrate the very best of this year’s films and the many brilliant people who bring them to life. ‘
BAFTA CEO Jane Millichip added that the academy was “delighted” that David would be hosting the Film Awards.
She said: “He is rightly loved by both British and international audiences.
“His warmth, charm and mischievous humor will make it a must-see show for our guests at the Royal Festival Hall and the millions of people watching at home next month.”
The EE Bafta Film Awards will be presented by David Tennant at the Royal Festival Hall on February 18 and will be broadcast on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
