Bad girls go everywhere! El Chapo’s wife Emma Coronel hits LA party after being released from halfway house following drug dealing conviction

The wife of Mexican crime lord El Chapo has quickly adapted to life on the outside, appearing at a party in LA on Friday night, just days after being released from prison.

Coronel was released on Wednesday after serving almost two years of a three-year prison sentence for drug trafficking and money laundering.

It didn’t take long for her to return to the nightlife she had been missing when she was spotted with a group of people in LA heading to a club in Lynwood for some live music.

The event was organized by Coronel’s lawyer, Mariel Colón Miró, at a location known as El Farallon.

Miró, 29, is not only a lawyer, but also an accomplished singer. She put on a show for her client under her stage name “La Abogada,” which translates as “lawyer” in Spanish.

Miró, who joined El Chapo’s legal team in 2017, also briefly worked for a convicted child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein before he committed suicide.

As for her client, Coronel, 34, was released from a halfway house in Long Beach, California, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

She is now on supervised release for the next four years.

The former beauty queen, who married the ruthless drug czar as a teenager, was sentenced to three years in prison by a US judge in November 2021.

Guzman was extradited from Mexico to the United States in 2017 and sentenced to life in prison in July 2019.

During her trial, prosecutors and her lawyers said Coronel was not involved in the core activities of Guzman’s Sinaloa cartel, which shipped hundreds of tons of cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine and other drugs to the United States.

“The suspect’s actual role was minimal,” said prosecutor Anthony Nardozzi.

“The defendant was not a leader, organizer, boss or any other type of manager,” Nardozzi said. “She was rather a cog in a very large wheel of a criminal organization.”

Coronel, who helped facilitate Guzman’s spectacular escape from a Mexican prison in 2015, regularly attended her husband’s trial in New York.

Coronel, who is a dual American and Mexican citizen, was able to travel freely in and out of the United States until she was arrested in February 2021 at Dulles International Airport outside Washington.

Coronel ultimately pleaded guilty to multiple federal drug charges.

They include conspiracy to distribute heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana.

According to Telemundo, she previously begged for forgiveness during her sentencing.

The mother promised to teach her daughters right from wrong, saying, “I beg you not to let them grow up without the presence of a mother.”

She admitted that in recent years she had helped him transport at least 450 kilos of cocaine, 90 kilos of heroin and almost 90,000 kilos of marijuana to the US.

A judge in the case ordered a forfeiture of nearly $1.5 million stemming from the illegal deals. Federal prosecutors called her a “cog in a big wheel.”

Guzmán, then the head of Mexico’s Sinaloa cartel, was captured and sent back to prison before his wife plotted his escape again in 2017.

He was convicted in the US of involvement in a continuing criminal enterprise and other counts of distributing tons of cocaine in 2019.

The infamous drug cartel boss is serving a life sentence, plus 30 years for the charges. He has since tried to appeal the conviction.

Coronel was transferred from a federal prison in Texas to a halfway house in Long Beach, California, in June, ahead of her release.

She married El Chapo in 2007, on her 18th birthday, and the two have been in a relationship ever since.

After his extradition to the US, she showed unwavering support for him, telling the New York Times in 2019 that she “didn’t know her husband as the person they’re trying to portray him as.”

She added, “But I admire him more as the human being I met and the one I married.”

Coronel was a fixture during her husband’s trial and was regularly surrounded by television cameras and publicity agents.
