Bad Bunny revealed he never intended to upstage Harry Styles during his first headlining set at Coachella Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California this past weekend.
After landing in hot water during his performance due to a tweet displayed behind him suggesting he was a better performer than the pop star, the 29-year-old rapper cleared the air on Friday night.
During his set on the second weekend of Coachella, a tweet behind him read, “Sorry Harry. It was my team’s mistake. We love you.
The sweet note replaced the controversial one from earlier this month, which read, “good night, Benito could do as it was, but Harry could never do el apagon,” in reference to Styles and Bunny’s respective hits.
As it turns out, Benito never approved of the tweet that indicated he was feuding with the three-time Grammy winner.

Earlier this week, the visual content company that designed Bad Bunny’s Coachella set art took responsibility for the error.
“Our intent is to create light-hearted designs that embody Bad Bunny’s personality and enhance the experience he presents as an artist,” Sturdy.co wrote on Instagram. ‘
“The artist’s request during the visuals for El Apagón’s performance was to use only the image and not the text of the tweet, which we take responsibility for and will correct [this] Friday’s performance, they added.
“These images are a tribute to Bad Bunny and his dedication to making his native Puerto Rico stronger,” they concluded.
The mistake was ill-timed, as the Puerto Rican reggaeton star is in a relationship with 27-year-old Kendall Jenner.
Jenner dated Styles off and on from 2013 to 2016.
And it wouldn’t be the first time the Me porto bonito singer has thrown shade at one of Jenner’s exes.
Last month, Bad Bunny appeared to target Jenner’s most recent ex, NBA player Devin Booker, in the lyrics of his song CoCo Chanel.

The lyrics translate to, “I’m not bad, baby, that’s a gimmick / But the sun in Puerto Rico is hotter than in Phoenix / She knows.”
Booker plays for the Phoenix Suns. In a since-deleted Instagram post, the NBA star wrote, “He was worried about another MAN again.”
And the Styles tweeting mishap wasn’t the only blunder Bad Bunny faced last weekend.
When he and Post Malone took the stage for a joint performance, he could not be heard by the audience.

The Puerto Rican rapper performed a two-hour show with special guests including Jhayco, Jowell & Randy and Ñengo Flow.
But when Post Malone joined him on stage, luck was not on the side for the pair, who suffered the technical blunder.
Crowds gathered to see the crossover, but were left confused at the awkward moment, where only some guitar strumming from Post Malone could be heard.
To make up for the moment, the two rappers took to Instagram to share a video of the song they would be singing.
